Obituary for Bruce Haines Barrett

Millerton – Bruce Haines Barrett, 56, a lifelong area resident died unexpectedly in Baytown, TX on Monday, January 9, 2017. Mr. Barrett was a professional over the road truck driver for over twenty- two years and was the owner and operator of Barrett All Trucking, LLC, of Millerton, NY.

Born September 6, 1960 in Sharon, CT he was the son of Jon Haines Barrett of Millerton and Dona Allegrante Liphardt of Southbury, CT. Bruce attended and graduated from Webutuck High School, Class of 1978. He worked alongside his father on the family farm in Millerton for several years before starting his driving career. Bruce will be remembered fondly for his love of hunting, his dogs, sweet tea, and spending time with family and friends, for his infectious chuckle, and above all for his kind heart.

Bruce is survived by his mother, his father, and his stepmother, Marilyn Barrett of Millerton NY; his son and daughter in law, Jonathan H. and Heather Barrett of Pine Plains, NY and his daughter Paige Decker and her companion Rob Castellano of Canaan, CT; three brothers, Thomas Breuler and his wife Deborah, James Breuler and his wife Mia, and Christian Kelly and his wife Jennifer; three sisters, Heather Biewald and her husband Frank, Elizabeth Barrett, and Megan Barrett Ideker and her husband Cory; three grandchildren, MaKayla and Briella Barrett and Cassius Barras, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Zora Cheatham will officiate.
