Obituary for Ralph J. "Rocky" Rockefeller

Millerton - Ralph J. “Rocky” Rockefeller, 90, a lifelong resident of Millerton, NY, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2016 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Rockefeller was a machine operator at the K & E Company in Millerton, NY for 30 years. Born on July 24, 1925 in Boston Corners (Town of Ancram) NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Clara (Silvernail) Rockefeller. On September 4, 2004, he married Clara M. Hosier who died on April 12, 2016. He was a life member of the Millerton Fire Department, the Millerton American Legion Post #178 and the Millerton Rod and Gun Club.

Mr. Rockefeller is survived by two nieces, Cathleen Giuseffi and her husband, James of Stanfordville, NY and Caroline Burke of Millerton, NY and a nephew, Robert Rockefeller of Kent, CT. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Allen Rockefeller, a brother, Harold Rockefeller and two sisters, Gladys Rockefeller and Beatrice C. Phillips.

Calling hours will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Ave., Millerton, NY. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton, NY.
