Obituary for Mildred Anne "Millie" Markonic

Marlboro – Mildred Anne “Millie” Markonic, 94, a seventy year resident of Marlboro, NY most recently of Millerton, NY died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Millie was a senior executive secretary at I.B.M. in Poughkeepsie for twenty five years. Following her retirement from I.B.M. she served as the Town Clerk of Marlboro for many years.

Born July 22, 1922 in Fort Montgomery, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Luca Erceg. She married and raised her family in Marlboro. Her beloved husband, Martin Markonic died in 1981. Millie was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Marlboro and the I.B.M. Quarter Century Club.

Survivors include her two grandsons; Martin Markonic of Millerton, NY and Steven Markonic of North Carolina, four great grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Mary Troncillito of Marlboro and Paula Markonic of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was also predeceased by two sons; Martin Markonic, Jr. and Richard Markonic and her siblings.

Graveside services and burial will take place on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11am at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY. Rev. Thomas Dicks will officiate.
