Millerton – Julia R. “Judy” Mathers, 77, a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.

Born June 24, 1941 in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie (Sherman) Ostrander. On March 15, 1958, in Ancramdale, NY, she married Melvin W. Mathers. Mr. Mathers died April 24, 1994. Mrs. Mathers enjoyed spending time with her loving family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren at family get togethers. She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her five children, Cathy Cooke and her husband Tom of Millerton, Julie Mathers of Claverack, NY, William Mathers of Millbrook, NY, Robert Mathers and his wife Christine of Ancram, NY and Richard Mathers and his wife Kim of Millbrook; three brothers, David, Charles Jr., and Richard Ostrander; two sisters, Marjorie Beaumont and Joy Rex; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was also predeceased by her daughter, Roxanne Mathers McClelland and her brothers, Tim and Kenny Ostrander.
