Obituary for Joseph A. DeLango Sr. Col.

Millerton – Col. Joseph A. DeLango, Sr., 84, a forty five year area resident formerly of Wingdale and Yonkers, NY died peacefully at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT on Sunday, June 18, 2017 with his devoted family at his side.

Born November 22, 1932 in Yonkers, NY he was the son of the late Madeline (DeMarco) and Louis DeLango. Joe attended Yonkers Schools and for a brief period of time owned Serv-All Service Station in Yonkers where he worked as a master mechanic. On May 8, 1966 he married the love of his life Patricia Koblosh. Mrs. DeLango survives in Millerton. Joe and Pat were truly “soul mates” forever. Always interested in antiques, Joe attended Reich College of Auctioning in Mason City, Iowa and worked as a professional auctioneer for over forty years. Joe owned Eastern Dutchess Auction Gallery in Wingdale, NY having moved to Dutchess County in the early 1970’s. He also operated Hawk Acres Farm where he raised thousands of sheep, goats, chickens and other livestock for over twenty six years.

Joe loved the farm and also loved raising his beloved children. His family will always remember his warm smile and big hugs and kisses. (He always wanted “sugar” from them all). In his later years he kept busy by operating DeLango Taxi Service and Col. Joe’s Antiques & Collectibles and Grandpa Joe’s Game Room in Amenia. Many of his friends would always wave and smile and say hello when he sat in front of DeLango Automotive in his wheelchair, greeting all of Mike’s customers. Joe was a loving husband, devoted father and true friend to all. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. The family wishes to thank Noble Horizons for the excellent care and compassion he received in his final days.

In addition to his beloved wife Pat, Joe is survived by eight children; Michael DeLango and his wife Larissa, Donna Bates and her husband Andrew, Laura DeLango, Dominic DeLango and his wife Shannon, Vincent DeLango and his wife Kellie, Anthony DeLango and his wife Kim, Beth Ann DeLango and Jo-Ann Padula; his precious grandchildren, Nickolas, Natalie, Mia, Michael, Jr., Dashel, Dagny, Olivia, Stacey, J.J., Ashton, Anthony Jr., Joey, Dana, Nickolas and many great grandchildren. In Addition to his parents he was also predeceased by a son and daughter in law, Joseph, Jr. and Mary Beth DeLango and his two sisters, Ann Torelli and Lucy Harmony.
