Obituary for Jonathan Adam Finkle
Millerton – Jonathan Adam Finkle, 79, a lifelong Millerton, NY, resident died peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Finkle was a self-employed contractor for many years where he perfected his trade in carpentry, painting and mason work.
Born May 23, 1937 in North East (Millerton), he was the son of the late Ambrose A. and Lyla B. (Snyder) Finkle. Mr. Finkle attended school locally and served his country honorably in the United States Army receiving his discharge on September 30, 1962. Jonathan was an avid dog lover and enjoyed spending time with his family in Millerton.
Mr. Finkle is survived by five children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by three siblings.
There are no calling hours. Private funeral services and burial with military honors will take place at Irondale Cemetery, Millerton, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538 or The American Heart Association, 301 Manchester Rd., Suite 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
