Obituary for Jesse R. Finley

Amenia – Jesse Richard Finley, 38, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in New Lebanon, NY. Jesse and his father worked together in their family business, Creative Stone Works for over twenty years.

Born August 27, 1977 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Richard “Rick” Finley of New Lebanon, NY, and Betsy Shields of Norwich, CT. Jesse attended Webutuck Central School District. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed ATV riding, skiing, target practicing and was also a devout animal lover.

In addition to his parents, Jesse is survived by three sisters; Heather Finley of Millerton, NY, Jill Finley of Mansfield, CT, Leah Wessels of Norwich, CT, and a brother, Doug Finley of New Preston, CT; his uncle and aunt, James and Margaret Shields; one niece, five nephews and his father’s girlfriend, Roxanne Gray. Jesse was predeceased by a brother, Michael J. Finley.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11 am at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 40 Leedsville Road, Amenia, NY. Rev. Betsy Fisher will officiate. Burial will be private.
