Obituary for Janet Hope Motts

Pleasant Valley – Janet Hope Motts, 69, a two year Pleasant Valley resident and a twenty five year Dutchess County resident died peacefully at her home in Pleasant Valley on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 with her loving family at her bedside. Mrs. Motts worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Adler in White Plains, NY before devoting all her time at home to raising her children.

Born May 18, 1948 in White Plains, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Lingis) Jackson. Janet was a graduate of White Plains High School. On May 30, 1974 in White Plains she married Arthur J. Motts. Mr. Motts survives at home. Janet will be dearly missed by her beloved husband and loving children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by five children; Lorie Laux and her husband Alan of Peoria, AZ Michael Leone of Stanfordville, NY Charlotte Irish and her husband Michael of Millerton, NY Elizabeth Motts of Poughkeepsie, NY and Alicia Motts and her companion Jesse Emerson of Dover Plains, NY; a brother, Frank Jackson and his wife Sue of Copake, NY three sisters; Barbara Garbarino and her husband Guido of Carmel, NY Virginia Fisher and her husband David of Tucson, AZ and Patty Soltani of North Salem, NY; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
