Obituary for Herbert G. Day III

Millerton – Herbert G. Day III, 61, a four year resident of Millerton, NY, formerly of Pawling, NY, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home in Millerton with his loving family by his side. Gil was a self-employed carpenter for many years and most recently worked for the Webutuck School District as a school bus driver.

Born July 17, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son of Herbert G. Day, Jr. and the late Evelyn (Silvernail) Day. Gil was a graduate of Midlakes High School in Clifton Springs, NY. On June 11, 1983 in Millerton, he married Theresa Pentz. Mrs. Day survives at home in Millerton.

Gil was very active for many years in the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Scout Master for Pawling Troop 34. He was a member of the Millerton Gun Club, the Masonic Lodge and a longtime member of the Millerton Methodist Church. Gil will be dearly missed by his loving wife and family and his many friends.

In addition to his wife and father, Gil is survived by four children; Jessica L. Johnson (Jason), Justin G. Day, Timothy E. Day and Cody E. Day (Jessica), four grandchildren; Adrianna and Jayce Johnson and Maggie and Klaus Day, three sisters; Mary Elizabeth Thompson, Sally Ann Hart and Nan Ellen Herow and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
