Obituary for Bruce M. Lamay

Millerton – Bruce Michael Lamay, 62, a fifty year resident of Millerton, NY, died peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. Bruce retired from Taconic DDSO in Wassaic, NY, as Mental Hygiene Supervisor after twenty five years of service. Prior to his career with New York State he worked as a professional truck driver for Metro North Railroad for over fourteen years.

Born January 14, 1954 in Malone, NY, he was the son of the late Cecil and Shirley (Bombard) Lamay. Bruce was a graduate of Webutuck High School, Class of 1972. He was currently the Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 178 in Millerton. On January 28, 1992 in Dover Plains, NY, he married Linda Killmer. Mrs. Lamay survives in Millerton. Bruce will be dearly missed by his loving wife and family and his many friends.

In addition to his wife Linda of twenty four years, Bruce is survived by three step children; Alicia Palmer of Queensbury, NY, Christopher Palmer and his wife Amanda of Highland, NY, and James Flynn of Syracuse, NY, two grandchildren; Tyler Palmer and Alex Swale, several cousins and many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Simon. In addition to his parents Bruce was predeceased by his first wife, Lynn E. (McArthur) Lamay and his son Gregg M. Lamay in 1988 and a son Michael B. Lamay in 1991.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. The Sons of the American Legion Post 178 will conduct services at 7pm during visiting hours. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 12pm at the funeral home. Rev. Zora F. Cheatham will officiate. Burial will follow at Irondale Cemetery, Route 22, Millerton, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millerton Legion Post 178, 155 Route 44, Millerton, NY 12546.
