Obituary for Mary Comstock

Ancramdale – Mary Comstock, 97, a five year resident of Ancramdale, NY formerly of Millerton, NY died peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was the medical records supervisor at Wassaic Development Center in Wassaic, NY for over thirty years, retiring in 1980.

Born September 26, 1920 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Anna (Broadsky)Gansowski. Mary graduated from Roe Jan High School in Hillsdale and received her master’s degree in hospital administration from SUNY New Paltz. She was a member of the Friends of the Millerton Library, Taconic Learning Center and Cary Arboretum in Millbrook, NY.

Mary is survived by her nephews, Stosh and his wife Carol Gansowski, Thomas and his wife Louise Gansowski John, David Gansowski, and Benay Gansowski and her loving caregiver Betty Shufelt. She was predeceased by three brothers; Ben, Stanley and John Gansowski and two nieces; Carol McCann and Mary Lynn Gansowski.

Graveside services and burial will take place on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11am St. Bridget’s Cemetery, 7 River Road, Cornwall, CT. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scott D.
