Obituary for Kenneth Leroy McClelland

Millerton – Kenneth Leroy McClelland, 55, a lifelong area resident died unexpectedly at his home in Millerton on Monday, November 12, 2018 following a brief illness. Mr. McClelland worked in the maintenance department at Kildonan School in Amenia, NY for many years. He also worked for New York State and for his close friend John Horton.

Born May 22, 1963 in Sharon, CT he was the son of George McClelland of Pennsylvania and Judy (Foster) Murphy of Millerton, NY. Mr. McClelland attended school in Red Hook and Pine Plains, NY. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a security specialist from 1981 to 1985 where tours of duty took him to several parts of the United States and Beirut, Lebanon. He was honorably discharged in March of 1985. Mr.
McClelland enjoyed playing pool in local pool leagues and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Justin Olmstead; his brother, Ronald McClelland of Millerton and his sister Beverly (David) Story of Lucerne, CA; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his step father, Thomas J. Murphy, a sister in law, Roxanne M. McClelland and his favorite aunt, Nancy Sloan.

There are no calling hours. Graveside service and burial will take place in the family plot at Riceville Center Cemetery in Riceville, PA at a later date.
