Obituary for Judith A. "Judy" O'Malley

Millerton – Judith A. O’Malley, 86, a thirty two year area resident, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT. Mrs. O’Malley worked as a dorm and recreation aide for Maple Brook School in Amenia, NY for many years prior to her retirement.
Born October 27, 1934 in Bronx, NY she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Roleck) Goeller. She graduated from Bayside High School in 1952 and attended secretarial school in Great Neck, NY. On October 22, 1955 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Bayside, Queens, she married James M. O’Malley. Mr. O’Malley survives at home. Mrs. O’Malley enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren and taught each of them to swim. She was an avid lover of animals and liked to crochet, knit and sew. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved gardening and caring for her home. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Martin of Tours Church of St. Mary in Lakeville, CT.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. O’Malley is survived by her son, Stephen O’Malley and his wife, Susan of South Salem, NY; her brother, Walter Goeller of Fort Salonga, Suffolk County, NY; three grandchildren, Brianna and Amanda O’Malley and Melissa Hartlipp and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ellen O’Malley on November 10, 2013.
Private visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 11am to 12pm. A private funeral service will take place at 12pm at the funeral home. Deacon Beecher will officiate. Committal prayers will be offered at 12:45 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cobble Road, Salisbury, CT, all are invited to attend.
