Obituary for Frances Marie "Fran" Day (Doyle)

Salisbury – Frances Marie Day, 92, a longtime area resident entered into eternal rest and into the arms of The Almighty Father on the morning of Monday, September 7, 2020 at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT with her devoted and beloved daughter Margaret “Peg” Day at her bedside.

Born June 25, 1928 in the Bronx, NY she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Ann (Halpin) Doyle. She was educated and graduated from St. Francis of Assisi School in the Bronx. On April 25, 1948 at St. Frances of Rome Church in the Bronx, she married Wilbur H. Day (FDNY Firefighter, Ladder 51, Bronx). Mr. Day passed away on February 27, 1997. Fran was a homemaker while raising her four children. She retired in 1996 following a 25 year career with the Archdiocese of New York where worked at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla, NY. Following her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed many aspects of her Irish heritage. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends and her caregivers at Noble Horizons. May you forever rest in God’s care Fran.

Fran is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret Day of Amenia, NY; her two sons, Glenn Day and his wife Flora of Tarrytown, NY and William Day of Valhalla; her granddaughter Giuliana and a great granddaughter Valentina Rose; her sister, Margaret Esch of New Jersey and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Musella and several siblings.

Private visiting hours were held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Graveside services and burial will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Section 24, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY. Rev. E.L. Epperson will officiate.
