Obituary for Eugene J. DeFlories

Village of Millerton – Eugene J. DeFlories, a 16 resident of the Village of Millerton, NY formerly of Liberty, NY died peacefully on the evening of June 23, 2020 at his home in the village surrounded by his dear friends. Mr. DeFlories worked as a mechanical engineer for Interfaith Church Center located on 116th Street in Manhattan, NY prior to his retirement.

Born March 12, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late John and Marie (Risi) DeFlories. Mr. DeFlories attended and graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY. He served his country in the National Guard and was a longtime member of the Engineers Union in NYC. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed cruising in his 1959 Morris and his 1949 Ford Anglia. He also enjoyed collecting antiques in his spare time and a good cup of coffee while sitting in Veteran’s Park in Millerton chatting with friends and acquaintances.

Mr. DeFlories is survived by his lifelong friends, Anthony Tomaselli of Staten Island and Sharon Ortiz of Riverdale, NY along with dear friends, David Tomaselli of Staten Island, James Tomaselli of Tucson, AZ, Danielle Nugent of Staten Island, Dave Kruppenbacher of Millerton and Gerard Martin of Millerton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved brother John J. DeFlories on August 22, 2015.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services and burial will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11am at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton, NY. Pastor William Mayhew will officiate.
