Obituary for Craig Alan Summers

Millerton – Craig Alan Summers, 76, a lifelong Millerton resident died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.
Mr. Summers recently retired following a twenty six year career with the Salisbury School where he worked as the Gymnasium Supervisor.

Born February 3, 1943in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late Lionel and Ruth Summers. He was a 1961 graduate of Webutuck High School. On June 4, 1961in Carmel, NY he married Bonnie Hoag. Mrs. Summers survives at home. Mr. Summers was a past captain and honorary member of the Millerton Fire Company and served his community on the Town of North East Zoning Board at one time. He was an avid New York Mets and Giants fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting and hunting camp and spending time with his family at the cottage in Otis, MA. He was a great friend to many and he will be dearly missed by his loving family.

In addition to his wife of fifty eight years, Mr. Summers in survived by four grandchildren; Andre Summers, Courtney Face and her husband Scott, Danelle Summers and her companion Jonah Spampinato and Kyle Summers, his daughter in law; Liana Summers-Roberts and her husband Dale of Copake, NY; his close friend Tom Miller of Canaan, CT who Craig considered to be a brother and several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Mr. Summers was predeceased by two sons; Dean Summers in 2009 and Scott Summers in 2014, Craig was also predeceased by a sister Evelyn Laurie of Chatham, NY

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
