Obituary for Connie Lou Davis

Dover Plains – Connie L. Davis, 75, a forty eight year resident of Dover Plains, NY died peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Davis worked for First Student Transportation in Dover Plains for over 25 years, where she loved and was loved by all the students she safely carried to school every day. Prior to her career at First Student, she worked as a cafeteria aide for the Dover Union Free School District.

Born August 23, 1944 in Elkland, PA she was the daughter of the late George E. and Vera G. (Sowers) Davenport. She was a graduate of Tonawanda Senior High School in Tonawanda, NY. She married Frank R. Davis in 1965 in Niagara Falls, NY, a loving marriage that lasted 22 years before Mr. Davis’s untimely passing on April 26, 1987. Connie was also predeceased by her loving companion Albert “Sonny” McRoberts in 2000. Connie was a longtime member of Grace Church in Millbrook, NY and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers at home. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and socializing with her many friends in and around Dover. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and her many friends and students.

Connie is survived by her son, Gregory Davis and his wife Jody of Hyde Park, NY and her daughter Michelle LaHart and her boyfriend Billy of Peru, NY; six grandchildren, Gregory and Andrew Davis of Hyde Park, NY and Brianna Davis of Pleasant Valley, NY, Kenny LaHart of Amsterdam, NY and Crystal LaHart of Peru, NY and Michael Davis of Chazy, NY; two great grandchildren, Ava and Colton; her brother, George Davenport and his wife Dot of Elkland, PA and several nieces and nephews. Connie was also predeceased by her son, Michael S. Davis of Austin, TX and her brother, Larry Davenport of Rochester, NY.

There are no calling hours, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Private graveside services and burial will take place at Nine Partners Cemetery in Millbrook, NY in April 2020.
