Millerton – Bruce Edmond Ahearn, 72, an eight year resident of Millerton, NY
formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY died peacefully at his home in Millerton surrounded
by his loving family. Mr. Ahearn worked for the Devereux Foundation in the
medical office prior to his retirement.
Born August 8, 1948 in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late Edmond and Patricia
(Thompson) Ahearn. He was a 1966 graduate of Webutuck High School in
Amenia, NY and attended Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. On
August 1, 1998 in Lakeville, CT he married Grace Crisafi. Mrs. Ahearn survives at
home in Millerton. Bruce enjoyed watching Jeopardy on television and was an avid
trivia expert. He liked coin collecting and reading in his spare time also. He will
forever be remembered by his loving family and many dear friends for his
infectious laughter at family gatherings and parties and his ability to always
entertain everyone. He will be fondly remembered for the many lives that he
touched while working at the Devereux Foundation where all the children just
loved him.
In addition to his wife Grace, Bruce is survived by his son, Bruce Ahearn of CA;
two daughters, Tomara Ahearn of CA and Jessica Ahearn of FL; three
grandchildren, Mychal Ahearn of CA, Jordan Cordero and his wife Rochelle Brady
of CA and Allison Stewart of FL; a great grandchild, Rory Cordero of CA; two
sisters, Irene Ahearn of Canaan, CT and Kelly Kilmer and her husband Scott of
Stanfordville, NY and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Bruce was
predeceased by his brother, Kevin A. Ahearn and two sisters, Patricia Ahearn and
Kathleen Thompson Carroll.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 10am to 12pm at the Scott
D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY. A reception in Bruce’s
honor will follow the visitation and will take place at the Amenia Steak House, 4905 Route 44, Amenia, NY. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be
