Millerton – Ambrose George Finkle, Jr., 83, a lifelong Millerton resident died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Finkle was a self-employed truck driver for twenty six years and also worked as a mechanic for Quality Farms in Saugerties, NY for many years.

Born July 13, 1935 in the Irondale section of Millerton, he was the son of the late Ambrose G. and Lila Snyder Finkle, Sr. He attended school locally and enjoyed whittling in his spare time. In 1955 in Lakeville, CT he married Rosemary Miles. Mrs. Finkle died May 6, 2013. Ambrose will be dearly missed by his loving family and his many friends.

Mr. Finkle is survived by two daughters, Patricia McCord and her husband Allen of Millerton and JoAnn Pickett of Canasta, NY; two sisters, Sandra and Linda and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four brothers, Jonathan, Rick, Michael and Peter Finkle.
